Poem Commentary

I wrote this for a woman, I love, admire, cheerish, and respect. I also believe, this is how woman should be looked at.

More then just a woman.

"More then just a woman."

Iam strong, Iam smart. Iam full of truth and heart.

Iam tough, Iam shy, I can be both, in a blink of an eye.

Iam woman, that is true. Iam wonderful, through and through.

I give life, I give love, Iam teacher, Iam learner, Iam mother, Iam daughter, I can be wild, I can be a child, Iam all of the above.

Iam confident, Iam self aware, Iam not afraid, to show I care.

I can be weak, I can be brave, through a mighty storm, my boat can sail any wave.

I am woman.

I can be beautiful, with or without make-up. I can stay together, even when inside, Im breaking up.

I can work, as hard as any man. I should not be look at, less than.

I can walk tall, I should not be treated, like Im small. I can be one of the guys, I should be told the truth and never lies.

I have brains, above my chest. To look me straight in the eyes, would be best.

I can be independent, I can hold my own. But when I need help, answer my call, to help hold my sail, when the wind is fiercely blown.

Iam woman. And Just like every one else, Iam human. I have the same rights as a man, of all this, that shouldn't be hard to understand.

My smile can be beautiful, my anger can be spiteful. I should be treated with respect, I should always be loved and never treated with neglect.

I should be treated with affection and never as a possession.

If you love me, show it. I should be hugged, never hit. And don't think because Im female, that I have a lower wit.

Iam;

W-onderful

O-ut spoken

M-ore than just my sex

A-ffectionate

N-ever to be taken for granted

Iam woman and proud to be me.

This piece tells it like it is with both barrels from the hip—Bravo!
