The Neighborhood Critter Band
Now on the stage, I mean rivers and bogs
The longest playing pop band The Fabulous Frogs
With their number one fan… and frogs he does like
The wolf of the water the Great Northern Pike
And right by his side, putting a smile on his snout
That star of the streams, Miss Rainbow Trout
Last but not least, call him Blue if you wish
The whiskery old character Sir Blue Catfish
That’s not the whole show, it doesn’t stop there
For flittery fun look up in the air
Maestro Bald Eagle is running that show
He rules with an iron talon you know
Hummingbird lays the background down
And sips on sweet nectar as she hovers around
Watch for the roll folks; hang on to your hats
Here come the dancers, The Little Brown Bats
Proving his greatness once and for all
Singing the tune is the bright Cardinal
Watch the whole show if you have the chance
Because the next group of critters will sure make you dance
The squirrels line up to tango in the tree
And the chipmunks all chatter and do the Linty
The Cottontail Rabbits sure know how to bop
When they come around they’re the life of the hop
If you’re not watching close there are things you might miss
Like the mice in the tall grass doing the twist
And there by the light of the silvery moon
Is that sneaky young lad, Master Raccoon
Miss Cicada she plays on her legs like a fiddle
And she plays without practice, well maybe a little
The old German Cockroach has sneaked in the door
He does the jitterbug all over the floor
Then with beauty and grace that captures the eye
Making her entrance is Monarch Butterfly
She watches closely for who sits down beside her
For she is not very fond of Harry Wolf Spider
I almost forgot one guest who’s excited
But to tell you the truth he wasn’t invited
It’s not due to looks, but his scary home culture
For no one wants to be a meal for the big Turkey Vulture
Now I believe that is all of the neighborhood band
Won’t you please all stand up and give them a hand
