Medals for Mother
Medals for Mother
You went above and beyond the call of duty, for that we are grateful and we choose to present you with the highest honors in the land
THE CONGRESSIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR.
Mom, you gave selflessly for all of our lives. You suddenly went on a diet when there were only five pieces of cake, and six people. You gave up shopping to take us to the park.
THE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE CROSS.
You devoted a lifetime to raising children, and spent more time teaching us and listening to us than you spent on yourself.
THE SILVER STAR.
You did everything you could to protect and comfort us from life’s Disappointments, and taught us that winning wasn’t everything when our team lost for the third time in a row. You lets us know that there were other people out there to make friends with, when we found out that the friend we thought would be around forever had moved away.
THE CIVILIAN DISTINGUSHED CROSS.
You were a mom to all of the friends we brought home. You cooked lunch for a dozen hungry and rowdy kids, and even accepted the title of ”Mom” from kids that lived blocks away, and you only saw them on the weekends
THE BRONZE STAR.
You took in and took care of the strays that just “followed” us home. (Even though we couldn’t keep them forever).
THE PURPLE HEART.
You endured major hurt when we decided to not take your advice and did things the way ”WE” wanted to, and even became a little cross with you when things did not go the way we wanted them to.
THE VICTORY MEDAL.
You ultimately either won, or will win in the end. You continue to be our mother no matter what we did or do. You let us understand that when we really could not, or cannot return home, there is always a place for us there.
Mothers, we have overlooked you for way too long, it is time we stood up and passed on the message that you are one of the most important and influential heroes in our lives. WE LOVE YOU!
