Sweet Words

Lost in memories to deep to find the sun ,
Searching for something I once held in my arms.
There is no light in this bleak mausoleum,
There is no future for those seeking the past.
Yet the past i must have,
For fragile dreams cast in the nights past,
Can only be found in the darkness of despair.
I cry out,
With my own blood as a offering for an answer.
But my blood is worthless,
And my soul condemned.
All because once I had A dream,
And in that sweet dream I heard your voice call my name.
My future ,
My soul ,
My past ,
None of them matter.
Nothing but that voice I once heard ,
In the darkest hours of my own hell.
So take my hand ,
My sweet lost dream.
And I will pay the price for our future,
With blood and bone
Tear and sorrow.
And when I stand before god condemned,
For A love that never was to be,
And existed only in the depths of my soul,
I will stand proud and not deny you
My sweet dream,
My gentle voice.
Not for the promise of eternity in bliss,
Nor the promis of hell eternal.
For you are my eternal bliss,
And the only hell would be the loss of my sweet dream.
So in this darkness I will hold your hand,
I wil kiss your tender lips,
And together in a sea of death and sorrow,
We will make our happily ever after.
All for those sweet words I once heard in the darkness.

Wow, very good. I love the images this creates in my mind. Most alluring and disturbing all at once. Well done. My only suggestion would be to separate verses, you know..for dramatic effect. A great poem none the less, dark , just the way poems should be!

thank you . yes i do not always remeber to septrate the verses as i write as it flows out of my head =)

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
