Grey Clouds

Grey Clouds

Grey clouds floating on the high winds of heaven,
Bringing down the tears of god.
Silent and beautiful,
Like wisps of smoke in the eyes of heaven.
Floating ever onwards and away towards eternal horizons,
As if searching for solace.
Somewhere in the distance,
I know they find it,
In a world where there are no more tears to be shed,
And the winds of heaven stand still.
In that world one day I will find my grey clouds,
And once more in there presence I shall be.
And never again shall a tear fall,
Or sorrow consume me,
For I will have found solace,
In the heaven of the grey clouds.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
