Something About Fragility
The smile you just gave me,
it was as gentle
and as powerful
as light falling snow.
Your angularity, all bones and skin,
it sometimes gets ruined
by your softness
and your rounded edges.
That look in your eyes,
I think it might've melted
the layer of ice and steel
I keep up for instances like this.
You're just like a baby bird,
a snowflake, a twig.
There's something about fragility
that draws people in so quick.
