    Set Me Free

    The end is near
    For my life I fear
    Mistake me
    Graciously
    Hold my body in contempt
All of my life I have spent
    Wishing on a star
    Wondering where you are
    The sun of my sky
    The moon of my night
We live this revolution in spite
They said we could not make it
But in the end we will
    Hold me now
    Don’t forsake me
    Hold me true and still
    Our love is not measured
    In time or space
    Or sweet state of grace
Rather left all alone and cold
Waiting for it all to unfold
The righteous will be set free
    Oh let it be me

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
