Facing the Past
Heading down a dirt road
My heart still intact
But breaking as the memories
Keep coming back
I kept thinking it was me
You kept thinking
You were free
I’m stand by the fire
With one last bridge to burn
I’m standing by the fire
But which way do I turn
Either way I go
I know
I cant go back
And that’s a cold hard fact
You made me a promise
Under a moonlit sky
That no matter where we go
That we would always be together
Somewhere underneath the sky
We would look up and cry
Now I know that was all a lie
Visions enclose me
Perpetuating an illusion
Of what we use to see
Reality is a light that focuses
On what has become
An unrealistic sanity
But your so stuck on vanity
Pretending that I am to blame
But it doesn’t matter
The fact is…
My feelings have changed
Nothing still remains
What did you expect from me
Why can’t you ever just let things be
And still you call
I refuse to fall
I can see right through you
I know what you are trying to do
I fight back the tears
But now I am facing all my fears
My heart still intact
But breaking as the memories
Keep coming back
I kept thinking it was me
You kept thinking
You were free
I’m stand by the fire
With one last bridge to burn
I’m standing by the fire
But which way do I turn
Either way I go
I know
I cant go back
And that’s a cold hard fact
You made me a promise
Under a moonlit sky
That no matter where we go
That we would always be together
Somewhere underneath the sky
We would look up and cry
Now I know that was all a lie
Visions enclose me
Perpetuating an illusion
Of what we use to see
Reality is a light that focuses
On what has become
An unrealistic sanity
But your so stuck on vanity
Pretending that I am to blame
But it doesn’t matter
The fact is…
My feelings have changed
Nothing still remains
What did you expect from me
Why can’t you ever just let things be
And still you call
I refuse to fall
I can see right through you
I know what you are trying to do
I fight back the tears
But now I am facing all my fears
