Only So Far
it's the water in the sky
the sand in the sea
the wind in your hair
and the smell of you on me
that draws me close
and drags me down
swallows my lust
till my lungs must drown
in the heaven of your presence
and the hell of your absence
and the in-between
when im not sure what just happened
follow you in circles
precious moments
minor miracles
too sick and too sweet
too thick to drink
water and sky
sand and sea
air and light
vacuum of night
breathing in my heart
and dying in my dreams
each night and dawn
a new leaf
falling from grief
the sand in the sea
the wind in your hair
and the smell of you on me
that draws me close
and drags me down
swallows my lust
till my lungs must drown
in the heaven of your presence
and the hell of your absence
and the in-between
when im not sure what just happened
follow you in circles
precious moments
minor miracles
too sick and too sweet
too thick to drink
water and sky
sand and sea
air and light
vacuum of night
breathing in my heart
and dying in my dreams
each night and dawn
a new leaf
falling from grief
