Poem Commentary

This poem was written for a woman I met online a couple of years ago (lissy leon) on a myspace page when I was going through grief, pain, depression, and sorrow of the loss of my mother who had passed. This person befriended me and helped me so much just with inspiring words and comfort, support and just a quick, How are you doing today? She was concerned and thought of me often, We build a very nice friendship online. She lived in California and I reside in Florida and although we never met pesonally we became friends and we supported one another on good days or bad days. unfortunatley she was stricken with the monster called cancer and she fought a strong battle, but she did not win.. I miss her and this poem is dedicate to her for the help she once gave me when I needed it the most. I miss her and her loss has trully hurt me deeply. Please keep her in your prayers... \

My Online Angel (Dedicated To: Lissy Leon)

A thousand Miles away,
In the depth of my exsistence,
Technology of a machine,
Brought an angel to my presence.
A mother I had lost,
I withered in my sorrow.
An ear to lend,
were you my friend,
a Shoulder I would borrow.

With written words you said to me,
be strong try moving on,
The will and strength you shared  one day,
helped me to stride along.
and as the years passed by so fast,
I made it with your heart.
You were there for me,
across a screen,
though miles away apart.

And there began our friendship,
that helped me deal with grief,
With loss, with pain, with hurt and sorrow
a long gut-wrenching reach.

Then yet again,
Ive come to find,
that you now, my friend , have gone
The girl who helped me through my despair,
also has passed along.
No hugs or flowers sent online,
no words of hope and love.
No saying it will be ok,
the words you told me once.

You've gone to soon,
so very young,
This I DON'T understand.
I guess that God must need you more,
he just, had other plans..

Today I sit and write to you,
my friend, as you did once,
to tell you that I love ya,
and that I really miss you much.

I write to you this poem,
in hopes that you will see.
That now i grieve for you,
but your words resound in me.

"To keep on being strong
and to know you'll be ok,
I know you'd want to tell me,
that everythings the same.

That now you fly with angels,
my mother being one.
I hope that you have met her there,
with all those that I have lost.

Thank you for all you've done for me,
ill meet you soon, one day
My plans for us to meet on earth
Juat arrived a bit to late..:(

RIP Lisette Leon

I'm sure your friend is honored by the wonderfully written artwork you created to celebrate her. Friends are family we get to choose and it seems that she and you chose very wisely! Great poem!

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
