Memorial Poem ~ for my dad

Memorial Poem ~ for my dad

It's been 3 years since you've went away,
 but it seems just like yesterday.
 Hearing your laughter ringing deep in my ears,
Seeing your face flashing between the tears,
Knowing that you will never be forgotten;
Because deep in our hearts is where you lay,
Though the ache in our hearts seems to never go away,
Knowing that one day, we will meet again in heaven at the pearly gates.
 Allows our hearts to smile with a happy face.
We love and miss you...all of those who cared deeply for you.
Rest in peace from your wife, daughters, grand-kids, son-in-laws, great grand-kids, mother, sister, and most of all ME!

Thank you for sharing such a personal poem. This is lovely.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
