Momma Why Do You Cry

Momma Why Do You Cry

Momma, Why do you cry?
For you are like a Rose,
You are delicate on the outside;
But nice and beautiful on the inside.
You are caring,tender,& loving,
Your heart is full of Joy & laughter.

Momma, Why do you cry?
For you give your all in everything you do,
You go without so others may have too,
You pray through all the sunshine & rain.

Momma, Why do you cry?
For you produce beautiful offspring,
You raise your children as well as others,
You create as well as you correct,
You hold so many titles.

Momma, Why do you cry?
For you are admired by many,
You grow more beautiful with time,
You stand tough through it all,
You take care of the problem; BIG or small.

So, I say to you Momma, O' Momma, Don't Weep for you are stronger then you "Think"!

This is a great poem that speaks to the strength of women, and mothers in particular. I think you captured the strength and impact that mothers have in the world well through your poem.

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
