Meaning of Love
What is love but a lifelong need,
A warning that you must heed
A danger sign in your path,
You must obey or feel its wrath
A heart- breaker, bound to kill,
To make you cry till your heart goes still
A raging river, pushing overboard,
And leaving you there to cry for the lord
A vengeful spirit, out to get,
A horror that you’ve never met
A horrible mind-game, still intact,
At which you can’t even strike back
A dark tunnel, with no end,
In which you are left without a friend
A very small tree that has no leaves,
That could fall down with a couple of heaves
A phone without batteries, that won’t ever ring,
So you miss a call, and lose everything
A world with no sun, always so stark,
You can’t see a thing, you get lost in the dark
A broken heart, still feeling pain,
A sad soul all alone in the rain
But we still fall in love, again and again,
We just can’t help it as we pull ourselves in
So please tell me my dear, tell me young dove,
What do you say is the meaning of love?
A warning that you must heed
A danger sign in your path,
You must obey or feel its wrath
A heart- breaker, bound to kill,
To make you cry till your heart goes still
A raging river, pushing overboard,
And leaving you there to cry for the lord
A vengeful spirit, out to get,
A horror that you’ve never met
A horrible mind-game, still intact,
At which you can’t even strike back
A dark tunnel, with no end,
In which you are left without a friend
A very small tree that has no leaves,
That could fall down with a couple of heaves
A phone without batteries, that won’t ever ring,
So you miss a call, and lose everything
A world with no sun, always so stark,
You can’t see a thing, you get lost in the dark
A broken heart, still feeling pain,
A sad soul all alone in the rain
But we still fall in love, again and again,
We just can’t help it as we pull ourselves in
So please tell me my dear, tell me young dove,
What do you say is the meaning of love?
