    May Have Won

I no longer know what I feel for you anymore
It's like, for so long I've had an open sore
It was cleverly covered with a bandage
    But as things got wet
    It slipped off
    And revealed the true damage
Damage and pain I had choosen to hide
    But why?
To be with the one I loved
The boy I'd do anything for
The one I'd give myself to
    And so much more
But as soon as the cover came off
I saw the parts of me
    That I lost
    So we quit, had arguments
    And split
    As for his new life
I wanted nothing to do with it
    In this no speaking process
His best friend was put to rest
Once again I wanted to reach out
    To be there for him
At first he wasn't with it
    But I was persistant
    Because I cared for him
    But now its all over
We still don't talk no more
I just don't feel the same
It's like, since my heart was torn
I know it couldn't go back
To the way things used to be
And maybe that's a good thing
    But it's weird
    I don't cry anymore
Don't even really think about him
Still have a tight bond with his family
    It's kind of a relief
I think I finally did it
    I believe I'm over him
Which is what I needed to do
    To stay strong
    I know he's moved on
    And now I have too
This life of love, hurt and relationships
    For mel, have just begun
    In this particular one
I think I may have won

Yes you did win, cause this was great

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
