    The Inside of Me

I never asked for their opinion
They assumed I wanted to know
They told me my face was very ugly
And my hair would never grow
You see, I'm not the cool type
Sort of nerdy, everything the teacher teaches, I know
I guess they're too cool to study or take notes
Cause their grades are sort of low
When I walk down the hall, they call out hurtful names like "hoe"
But I haven't even done it with anyone
    Or portray myself as one
So why they tease and make up lies, I don't know
Maybe they think it's all just one funny joke
But it's not; they don't take the time out to see how it affects me
Everything they do and say ,they do incorrectly
Why do I have to be called untrue names,
When they're the ones willing to get naked
They don't respect themselves, they don't respect me
Trying to be cute, disobeying the school rules by their dress length
How they feel about lifestyles and important things....impressing
There's one girl who sits right beside me
She's not so bad, she likes to pretend
She just acts the way she does to fit in
She likes to pretend in class like she's not interested
Like she's not a math whiz
But as I looked deep in her trying to be like everyone esle
I just found a portrait of myself
    Trying to be someone else
That I wasn't cut out or meant to be
By lookin on the inside of her
I saw the inside of me

Wow what a good self analyzation and a wonderful poem

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
