How Do We Know?

How Do We Know?

How do we know that we’ll live tomorrow
When the world is filled with so much pain and sorrow
What if the day ends
Never to begin again
Is a sign when the world starts falling faster than slow
How do we know

How do we know
When the rain turns to fire
That is was not the devil’s, but the Lord’s desire
When the seas dry up
And the fishes die
And the redness of a rose
Soon becomes the new sky
That the days are ending by and by

So, how do I know
When to get my life together
Stop basing my values on materialistic things
For he loves me, but with the depth of my greedy
He’ll take me and put me to burn with demon beings
This extreme
The unknown end
Which is based on our endless sin

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
