Longing for a love with invisible shores

Longing for a Love with Invisible Shores

The sun left a dim glow on the horizon
in the wake of its descent.
A tangle of apprehension traced the contours of my spine.
In the quiet cavity of my heart,
there was a sea of empty space longing for a love with invisible shores.

Her eyes glistened like deep water in moonlight.
I clung to hope, looking for the deepest shade of a promising horizon, but hope, like the day, fades away like an unfinished dream.

The sky darkened to deep violet.
Night settled silent and velvety black over the water,
under a wash of light from moon and stars
    spilling from a cloudless sky.

As if it were the dark and tearful side of music,
sighs of regrets that would fain be sung are released by a touch,
a thoughtless pressure, knowing not itself.
    She whispered to me.
The sound of her words deafened the air.
My emotions, glass naked, where laid before her.
    Through a breathtaking, piteous glimpse,
liquid eyes stared back, and I saw my dreams
reflected in the silence of her eyes.
Deep wells of desire faded away,
as we peered through time, a turbulent past.
    In empty silence,
the pulse pounding present hides like dawn between words.

    Stranded in my heart
are crumpling pages of inadequate words.
Eddies of emotions swirl through a sea of hopelessness,
though questions want to draw her back,
as she turns and walks away
with the fluidity of unfurling silk.

Your words are woven in a truly beautiful sense and I feel everything you are writing very vividly. Very nice to read you.

Many of my poems have there roots i real life, but they fit in so well with the novel I am writing.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
