    Gaze on through tomorrow

Look away my dear, from this stone cold grave,

    and gaze on through tomorrow.

Walk away my love, from this willow's shade,

    upon this field of sorrow.

Remember my dear, when we used to love,

    upon those fields of gold.

    And the summer sun, how it shone above;

    we dreamt of growing old.

Now this endless sleep, and I see you weep,

for I'm not there to follow.

Just remember when, now just look away,

    and gaze on through tomorrow.

Please forget this stone. Please don't live alone.

You're too young to feel sorrow.

Just remember me, but you carry on,

    and gaze on through tomorrow.

Maybe then someday, you will turn my way,

when you're tired of growing old.

You won't look away. Turn to me and say,

    I remember fields of gold.

This is so beautiful. It has excellent rhymes, marvelous meter rhythm and word choice. The emotion the deceased brings to the living loved one is so tender . This was just lovely.

thank you so much for your kind words. I usually try to bring emotion with my writing, sometimes sad, sometimes happy I feel this poem gives both in a sense; thinking that there will always be the hereafter. That a loved one is waiting, not gone forever.

This is a beautiful poem that really touched my heart and made me feel sad too. I felt some deep feelings and tears swelled in my eyes. So beautiful..
