LEECHES
LEECHES
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
WHAT ARE THEY
A HANGER-ON
THEY’RE THOSE WHO CAN SUCK BLOOD OUT OF A STONE
UNTIL THEY HAD ENOUGH
AND MOVE ON TO ITS NEXT HOST
SOMEONE LIKE YOU OR I
AND SOMETIMES LOOK LIKE YOU OR I
WITH A SMILE FROM EAR TO EAR
YET THEY HAVE NO SOUL INSIDE THEM
THEY ARE WIDE EYED, AND PARCHED
THEY WILL SUCK YOU TILL YOUR DRY
LEAVING YOU AND YOUR FAMILY TO ROT AND DIE
WHERE ARE THEY
THOSE ANNELID WORMS
USUALLY THEY TRAVEL THE FRESH WATERS
OF RIVERS AND STREAMS
BUT THESE LEECHES STEAL PEOPLES LIVES AND DREAMS
THEY’RE EVERYWHERE
ACROSS THE STREET
DOWN THE ROAD
IN SOMEONES FAMILY
AT MARKETS AND STORES
AND PLACES PEOPLE HANG OUT EVEN MORE
SOMEONE WHO HAS EVERYTHING
EVERYTHING THAT’S YOURS OR MINE
WHO ARE THEY
THEY’RE DOWN RIGHT THIEVES
THEY SMILE, AND SAY HELLO
THEY LOOK AND THEY LEER
FOR SOMEONE TO FOLLOW
THESE LEECHES ARE PEOPLE
WHO TAKE WITH NO FEAR
AS THEY TALK WITH US, THEY CONSUME US
COLLECTING INFORMATION
TO TELL US WHAT WE WANT TO HEAR
MANY LEECHES ARE THE PROFESSIONAL
THOUSANDS MAYBE MILLIONS
AS THEY TRY TO RULE THE EARTH
SUCKING AND SUCKING
UNTIL THEY SEE THE MILLIONS OF TEARS
OF LIVES THEY HAVE CHANGED ONLY OUT OF FEAR
SO ALWAYS BEWARE
THESE LEECHES HAVE A GLARE
A FEATURE WE DON’T SHARE
LEECHES DON’T CARE
