I saw it in her Eyes
I saw it in her eyes the fear deep within
Reliving all her pain again and again
Seared into her memory an everlasting dream
Things that frightened things that made her scream
I saw it in her eyes tears as black as coal
Darkened by her torment freezing her very soul
Her cries went unheard her voice but a whisper
No one would care no one would miss her
I saw it in her eyes bleeding and broken
A small shattered heart words could not be spoken
Body wracked with pain trembling lips of blue
She would hide within as if no one knew
I saw it in her eyes a shy little girl
Felt so unloved so alone in the world
Afraid to reach out trusting no one
Didn’t want to move felt her life was done
I saw it in her eyes hunger that she felt
Thirsting of her soul lower her spirit knelt
Hands upon her face covering up her shame
Only way to survive is thinking it’s a game
I saw it in her eyes one day she will be free
Broken heart will mend all of her pain will flee
Will be no more abuse rescued from above
A man from far away a man to give her love
