Red Mans Heart Bleeds Red
We may look different on the outside
But on the inside we are the same
I can be happy I can feel sad
I can feel this thing called pain
I breathe the air I drink the water
My body has the same needs
My heart breaks my tears fall
And like you my body bleeds
The sky was blue the sun shone bright
My people were happy and free
Then one day we were took away
Our land we’ll never again see
Many were sick and many died
As we traveled the tear stained trail
In our hearts we question why?
All the peace treaties began to fail
We were created in Gods image
Though they rejoiced to see us dead
It makes you wonder if they knew
That the Red Mans Heart bleeds red
But on the inside we are the same
I can be happy I can feel sad
I can feel this thing called pain
I breathe the air I drink the water
My body has the same needs
My heart breaks my tears fall
And like you my body bleeds
The sky was blue the sun shone bright
My people were happy and free
Then one day we were took away
Our land we’ll never again see
Many were sick and many died
As we traveled the tear stained trail
In our hearts we question why?
All the peace treaties began to fail
We were created in Gods image
Though they rejoiced to see us dead
It makes you wonder if they knew
That the Red Mans Heart bleeds red
