Humming Bird

Humming Bird

Flapping wings fast
Where you created last
Whats the hurry ?

Blues, greens, yellows
Love your true colors

Turn left, turn right
Can`t follow your flight

I was afraid you would bite
It was close to night

Next to the lemon tree
I cound`nt hold it in me

Sparkling colors of
Gold and yellow liquefied
I was petrified !

I thought one more foot
And i would lose and inch

What would you do ?

Poor humming bird
Why does your wings
Look gold and yellow now

Humming bird remember
All that glitters is`nt gold.

Everything you want irony to be in a poem this work achieves. To draw a parallel between how the hummingbird sees things and how the voice views things does so much for this poem. I also like how the voice warns that at that glitters isn't gold. You may have heard that before but never heard it in this very unique way. I will read this again.

Funny stuff. Still chuckling, love the picture, poor humming bird. I don't think he was counting on meeting you.

Wow you are really right! you are not a poet and just cause you think it should it be written down for all to read it and remember it? Wow that is something I read two of them and they we by far something else!!!

lol this made me crack up, very nice of you to pee on the hummingbird XD but i must say i enjoyed this poem, good job

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
