    Gift To The Fallen

For each soldier that has fallen so that many may stand

We honor their spirit as they pass to God’s hand

For without their sacrifice we would live forever in fear

We pray for their loved ones and provide a salute and a tear

God help us heal the wounds of hate and the misery of war

That is our gift to the fallen heroes that walk amongst us no more.

lol...Wow! This wonderful poem could not have been a whole lot closer to the one I've written! We must have been in a similar mindset when the muse struck! Very nicely done of course!;)

I am wordless. Head bowed, thank you for remembering those who shall never be forgotten.

Beautiful and real, words that clearly and precisely sum up feelings of our Heros and were it not for their precious gift, then what? Thank you for your talent and your poem honoring so many beautiful gifts.

Charlie, Iove it! It truly acknowledges their sacrifice and loss. If only more would pray, salute, and shed a tear. Prayer is the best and first place to start, as it gets people to consider..but too many are afraid to look at the sacrifice our soldiers and their families are making, lest they be asked to sacrifice as well. God speed.

Thank you, your words are well chosen.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
