    Fearful Tears

    I sit here waiting,
    as darkness falls,
    has he forgotten?
I feel hot liquid on my face,
    tears of fear,
he said he loved me, didn't he?
As my hope begins to fade,
I feel a hand on my shoulder,
    I turn around,
    there you are,
    your beautiful eyes,
    looking at mine,
you ask me why I cry,
    I answer with a sigh,
you wrap your arms around me,
    your warmth comforting me,
    then I look at you,
I ask you to run away,
    run away with me,
    you just look at me,
you say that you love me,
and that running away wouldn't solve our problems,
    I know you're right,
    so I smile,
    then you kiss my lips,
    I kiss your's back,
    you hold me closer,
    so now I know,
    you love me,
    your always there,
    and there is no reason,
    for fearful tears.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
