You're Always There
As I look to the skies
With eyes open wide
I feel the breeze and know you're there
When I grow ten feet tall
Then stumble and fall
I feel you right beside me
But I see nothing
Only the leaves
Blowing in the wind
And though you're not there
I feel the hand that you lend
As the days pass by
I start to cry
Because I feel but don't see you
I have happy days
When I realize you're in a better place
And sad when I wish you were here
Then I look around, and see you're not there
So, why so soon?
Why now?
Couldn't you wait a little bit longer
Watching us grow a little bit stronger?
You were there watching over us
And for all of us you'd care
Your body is gone
But your spirit lives on
On in each of us
Every boy and girl
We love you more than we do this world
But one morning
Not long from today
You'll be here again
So we'll wait until then.
With eyes open wide
I feel the breeze and know you're there
When I grow ten feet tall
Then stumble and fall
I feel you right beside me
But I see nothing
Only the leaves
Blowing in the wind
And though you're not there
I feel the hand that you lend
As the days pass by
I start to cry
Because I feel but don't see you
I have happy days
When I realize you're in a better place
And sad when I wish you were here
Then I look around, and see you're not there
So, why so soon?
Why now?
Couldn't you wait a little bit longer
Watching us grow a little bit stronger?
You were there watching over us
And for all of us you'd care
Your body is gone
But your spirit lives on
On in each of us
Every boy and girl
We love you more than we do this world
But one morning
Not long from today
You'll be here again
So we'll wait until then.
