    Poem Commentary

i wrote this to enter it in a contest but i decided not to go...so i guess i'll leave it here...

    Uncommon

    I am uncommon
    In a common generation
    I show God
    Throughout the nation
    They laugh at me
    I go on still
I am uncommon, I am surreal
God is my foundation and I will not hide Him
From this world, from the common
They look at me and they know I'm different
    Just because I am uncommon
    Because I was God-sent
But I don't mind standing out
And I don't mind that I'm not the same
I am proud to be uncommon
I am like snow in the rain
    God has made me uncommon
    And so will I be
I will go out into this generation
And spread uncommon to all the nation

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
