You Have A Hold On Me

You Have A Hold On Me

I see you and my heart skips a beat.
I hear your voice and my breath is caught in my throat.
You take my hand and my heart starts beating so fast it sounds like the wings of a humming bird.
You kiss me, I start to get dizzy, and then realize that I forgot to breathe.
And the whole time you're smiling, amazed, cause you... don't understand the hold you have on me.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
