Weight

Weight

Belt buckle tight to hold it all in
Cellulite bulging the rims
Should of invested in a girdle to slim

No respect in self reflection
Headed in the wrong direction

From the bed to the chair only half way there
The Doritos's are spotted, licking lips head nodded
Bag clenched, now you have got it

The couch is closer that is where to sit
Grabbing the remote, and then click
Scanning the channels to take a pick
Finishing the entire bag just to get a fix

No respect in self reflection
Headed in the wrong direction

Insisted it was stress that encouraged the binge
passing the scale began to cringe
Finally gained enough courage to watch the scale spin
Now 20 pounds heavier rather then thin

A lesson has been weighed
Do not delay until tomorrow
What can be done today

i know the story all too well - and it's worse as you get older

Very good write about weight. I struggle with weight gain myself and the foods I love are the worst for me. I look at a bag of Doritos and I gain 10 pounds before the first crunch but I LOVE ME and it took time for me to look at me and say it's okay God made me this way. I wrote "It's Just Me" and "Be Blessed" to define what I see when I look in the mirror.

Yeah, hun, I know, but fresh chips are better than stale sex. Add in salsa and guacamole and love handles could last forever! Just put down the remote and take a long walk through a park- for 5 miles or so.

Thankfully I have not gained twenty pounds but there are those days I am lazy. I hate when is two many then all you can do is look back and say to your self I wish I had done more.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
