Walk along the red walls

    Walk along the red walls

I walk down the shadow cast walls
    Reds reflect my back
As Orange dips low into the sky
    Echo’s appear and voices fade

    My voice was never there

Looking down into the great ravine
I see what we have created
I’ve been here for thousands of years
    Unlike you, my love.

Lying down in the after summer heat
    It feels almost too short
    As the sun has disappeared
    And only its glow remains
    I’m fading into the darkness
    Once again I will disappear
And no one will every find me
Unless they look down upon the canyon

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
