Beside the Ocean (Don’t Lose your Insight)

The Bridge fills the infinite gap
    Across the breaking waves
They fill up the iris blue crevice
Stretching for as far as my feet will carry me
    Driftwood lays lonely
    Do you need a friend?
I’ll be yours for a day.

    Train tracks fill the overhead
    Lights bursting
    Shaking bridge
    Different than my Ocean side
    Spinning -I’m falling
Twinkling reflection as far as my eyes will let me
    I’ll stay
For the wide mouthed cutting corner cafes
Spiraling miles of rusted Indian red train tracks
And Great vast blue breaking waves ever moving ocean

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
