    Nonsense

My heart is a pulsing abnormality
    It breaths in invisible smoke
    It rustles- trembles
Inside of the nest it lays in
    Bird’s eye view
    Cracking open egg shells
    Into magnificent proportions
    Into the darkened night
    It whistled a melancholy tune
And sang of a backwards world
    Of the golden afternoon
I write to keep my heart alive
But it is still never enough
    When our breathing blue sphere
Sucks all the life out of my soul
    And obliterates my life’s bluff
    Words tremble and break
    Nonsense kicks in
My brain can’t handle what my mind is saying
“Captain, captain! We are going down!”
“Man the lifeboats, be quick and don’t make a sound!”
I wonder if the radio broke
If I would still be heard
Or if the static of my voice
Would disappear along with the fishing poles
    Dangling from the moon.
