The Stars
Lying on the hood of your car.
I gaze up at the lovely stars.
The clouds flow by.
Silently, as in a dream.
I look back on the years.
Triumphs, trials and tears.
The time glides by so fast.
I want to scream.
And we cannot get it back.
It is futile to resist.
Love and loss and pain
Are our condition.
Tommorow is a new day.
So hold fast to what you've got.
Relationships are gemstones
For our hearts.
Some incidents will come.
But together we overcome.
Cling to one another,
With all your might.
Have faith and know.
Above those stars.
Is a God who loves you deeply.
Even though we question him at times.
He is rock solid.
He is Jehovah.
