The Romantic Knight: Final Chapter
The Romantic Knight: Final Chapter 125 LinesOn his golden stallion up to his castle by the coast,
He long forgot the ugly duckling he once thought he'd toast,
But thoughts turned his mind,
Who is worthy, sweet and kind,
He racked his cranium trying to figure one,
Who met all 3 qualities under the blazing sun,
But try as he might, no woman passed the test,
Yet in his heart he would not quit, give up or rest,
He sat at home, later on in the sunset,
Watching the waves crash like a corset,
Of roses do when they meet the ground,
And no one is present, around,
So soothing is the sound of the crash,
Of water that meets and makes a splash,
This peaceful tune the Romantic Knight watched, listened,
Till in the glimmer of sunset beauty arose, glistened,
His eyes peered and he saw heaven,
She was food to his soul, better than bread unleaven,
His tounge rolled across his lips at the sight he beheld,
Lucky for him his armour below kept quiet what otherwise would weld,
It was his neighbor, A true beauty was she,
He smiled genuinely,
Hoped up with energy and joy,
Felt so happy, felt it within like a little boy,
For at that moment he knew who should be,
His friend, lover, life partner maybe,
So he approaches this woman, this woman of love,
And inquires a hello from this sweet dove,
She smiles and sees the glow on him,
And wonders what made him so strong to glow from within,
"My lord, why the smile of joy,
You look like you just got your favorite toy,"
"Well I wouldn't call it a toy, more like a deep intuition,
It sent me up this way to see our paths cross, an intermission,
I see you glistening in the sun as it sets,
Figured like those who gamble money to the joust, i place my bets,"
"Gold finds gold, romantic one,
Still no woman to call your someone?"
"You know me well, friend of faith, of truth,
You know me better than the book of Ruth,
But come along now, take a ride with me,
Let your golden beauty and my golden armour glisten as we ride by the sea,"
"Sounds good to me" She said as a matter of fact,
Though deep within, she felt a pinch of tact,
"Lets see what he's up to" She thought in her head,
"I know he's charming, but sometimes he shoots himself in the foot, full of lead,"
So off the they rode on down the coast,
His castle in the distance, romance with her is what he wanted most,
Seeing a violinist crew not too far in position,
He summoned them over, gave them gold for their submission,
To play for him as he and her sat by ocean, sunset,
A moment to come that he would never forget,
"Wow, you bring the best, and we just came to talk,"
"If it were up to me my lady, they would have played as we walked,"
Chuckling she said,
"I see why women cling hard to you,
You are playful and loving at the same time, its a wonder you,
Don't have someone, seem to be taken, but always alone,
When its all said and done, it seems your heart goes to roam,
As these oceans do, more than the seven seas,
Farther and farther away from you, like a lost set of keys"
"What would you have me do, my lady of beauty?
Ive trusted your words, wisdom, and duty,"
"I would search my heart and try to find someone,
Who is as beautiful as you are, and as loving as anyone,
And ensure that their beauty is more than skin deep,
Though if the great one be good, inner and outer would beauty keep,
As one flesh wrapped to walk this earth,
From the ground she came since birth,
Who loves as you love and thinks as you think,
But is still free and independent to leave you in a blink,
Knowing that while she may love you she doesn't need you, and you the same to her,
For that knowledge alone will take you further and further,
And also find in that same woman, one who loves touch,
For you are a man who lives for that moment so much,
You love to touch a woman's face, you love to caress her hair,
You love to feel the smoothness of her skin, you handle it with such care,
You love to hold a woman, and in each and every hold make it last forever,
If it were up to you would that hug end, NEVER,
You love her pretty hands and even prettier toes,
You love the way that the symmetry of her face flows,
You love the smell of her hair, as it comes across your nose,
Whether up close or far, it causes you to dose,
And dream that you are in a wonderland,
And wont come out until its summerland,
These and more are what you desire, for you have held non within,
I speak only what you already know, and knew well be fore me, the begin,"
"Of all you speak well, my lady you speak true,
Now there is just one more thing I must ask of you,
You see that same woman you speak of sits here in the sand facing me,
I wonder what will it take for you to dine with me,
You know me better than a 1000 women could know me in life,
You have known me long before I was a knight with no strife,
You've known my frivolities and my failures with women,
And never the judge, you were ever faithful, true to livin,
I'm not asking you for much, just a chance to do what we already do together all the time,
Except that this time it would be to temporarily make you mine,
So what say you in the matter, O' beautiful and true,
Care to take a chance with the greatest man you ever knew?"
"I see your smile and so I know you are humble when you said those last words,
I wont make you wait for an answer, like someone who makes cottage cheese from curds,
I'm kinda shocked, that you finally asked me,
What took you so long to find peace of mind, happy,"
The joy in our romantic knight welled within,
All he could do was lean in,
Smile and caress this woman's face,
See her retun the favor as they would immediately take their place,
And lock lips faster than the speed of sound,
To which their actions brought joy abound,
And this story ends happily you see,
Don't know if they ever got married, but together they remained she and he,
Till he was transfigured one day, St. Valentine his new name,
Striking the hearts of the lonely, adding valour to his fame.
