The Patriot
On a warm summer morning
He walked out of his house
Under his arm he carried a symbol
A symbol of freedom a symbol of courage
As he walked across the lawn
To a mast that reached the heavens
The young patriot, hoisted the symbol into the air
As it reached the top
He stepped back with pride
As he looked at the great flag
Fluttering beneath the sky
He remembers what the colors mean,
And those who have stood their ground
To preserve this country’s heritage
And keep it safe from tyranny
In this land of the brave there are few like him
That would make the stand and take the fall
He is not a soldier,
Just a man who would sacrifice himself to save his land
He is a Patriot, proud and true
Standing for his country
What about you?
He walked out of his house
Under his arm he carried a symbol
A symbol of freedom a symbol of courage
As he walked across the lawn
To a mast that reached the heavens
The young patriot, hoisted the symbol into the air
As it reached the top
He stepped back with pride
As he looked at the great flag
Fluttering beneath the sky
He remembers what the colors mean,
And those who have stood their ground
To preserve this country’s heritage
And keep it safe from tyranny
In this land of the brave there are few like him
That would make the stand and take the fall
He is not a soldier,
Just a man who would sacrifice himself to save his land
He is a Patriot, proud and true
Standing for his country
What about you?
