    My Joy

From the first time I found out
I knew that no matter what happened I would always love you
you were to be my first born
I had waited 6 years to hear those words
so month after month I waited to see how u were developing inside me
the anticipation grew as every day drew near
    finally the time was here
you were born into the world
with all the love some one could have
    at 6:55 Monday morning
and it was one of the happiest days of my life
I sat and counted your tiny fingers and toes
I was glad that u were healthy and I cried
because it was a joyous time but also sad
because the world is so bad with all the hate and crime in the world to day
I never want to see you have to go through bad stuff
but all I can do is teach you right from wrong and when your old enough
I hope and prey that I did not waste my time with all I had to say
