    Sharing a sunset with you

    Sitting there with my friend
Watching the day as it comes to an end
The rustling of the waves splashing
    far below
The warmeth of the sand you just had to know
That this sunset is far and few
because im spending it with you
The sky a pretty pinkish purple
the ocean is as dark as night
in the distance the sun fades away
and the moon and stars take its place
The air is now filled with a slight chill
and the smell of thr big blue ocean fills the air
The sounds of boats are all around,
up above the light from the lighthouse
Shines over the dark and misty night
and guides the ships saftly home
    with out any fright
We stay and talk the night away
intill the morning sun fills the day
then we part and go our own way

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
