The first face

Poem Commentary

Growing old we turn back in time .Loving those who loved us brings comfort to there souls. We continue in life through a circle of love they left us.

The first face

The first face I saw was hers
She held me my little hands
She'd sing the songs
Grandma sang to her
Bringing comfort to my soul
She made me feel
I was the best
No unearthly scorn could inter her nest
She'd Hold my hand when
When the big bus came
My first day of school
Between the sheets hug on the line
She smile watching me play
Leaves piled all in a heap
Raked high just for me
Making sure I was safe
She'd make good things for me to eat
Showered me with her love
When night fell she tuck me in
Kiss my little cheeks
It is now my hands
That tuck her in
I kiss her little cheeks
For it was her love that showed me how
To comfort her soul
When night falls
I'll sing her songs
That moma sang to me
When Jesus comes I want her to know
How much I love her so
I'll be there like she was for me
My face she will see

A beautiful circle of events in life, lead us to, away, and back to the first face. Great perspective and heart in this work!

Thank you I only wish they could last forever but that is not reality untill the Lord comes.

Beautiful job of taking me full circle. Great flow. Hard how we have to see our loved ones change. Written powerfully insightful. Charles

It is very hard. They seem to slip away in mind . She misses my dad a lot. He is gone now.

Girl! You done went and made me cry! I hope you're happy. I loved this poem, and it's exactly how I feel. You are a wonderful daughter who had a wonderful mother. Wish I could hug you.

I dedicate this poem to my mother who loved me so. She hung the sheets on a line. When parents love their children ,the love comes back . Sorry about the typos.
