Tent of Boxes

Poem Commentary

Tonight I am going to sleep in a box to get a feel of how homeless people live. If it is bad then i'll be back in a few days to bug people to help the poor homeless. Sadly no one is brave enough to join me in the box or even in the tent, so I will go alone with one dog. Although the dog is an idiot, I love him dearly, and he annoys everyone too much when i'm even a room away from him, so he has to sleep with me.

Tent of Boxes

A cardboard box
So small and cozy

My life is so restless
My bed is so hard
As i sleep outside
In a cardboard box

With a tent
Connected to the box

My dogs in the tent
With lots of blankets

Me in a box
With cardboard bellow

My tent is a box
But with more boxes
It's a tent of boxes

Boxes to hold me
A tent to craddle my dogs
All is well
With my tent of boxes

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
