Song for you.
The sun’s behind us, lighting up your hair.
I hear the birds chirping, and I begin to strum my guitar.
I’ve longed to sing for you, though my voice is a shame.
Today’s the day; I throw caution to the wind.
I’ll sing until my hearts content.
I’ll draw a crowd, and they’ll all know.
You’re the one and I love you so.
I’ll play a song, although I’m not sure which one.
It’ll be perfect, just for you.
I’ll let the rhythm take me, and sway me side-to-side.
As I nod my head, and look into your eyes.
I’ll open my mouth, and let my voice fly.
I’ll strum that guitar, and sing you a tune, all the people will gather, and they’ll all dance soon.
I’ll finish the song, and the people will cheer.
But I won’t care, your thoughts are all I hear.
I’ll put my guitar down, and then I’ll stand.
And when I do, I’ll take you by the hand.
I’ll lead you away, wherever you want to go.
And I’ll play again.
I’ll give you a show.
