Right Track.
I open the door, to see you standing there, that cruel, fake smile on your face.
You expect to enter my life again, after disappearing without a single trace.
I see you open your mouth, but I hear no words.
All I hear is the sounds of the outside birds.
Since you’ve left, I’ve known life.
Since you’ve left, I’ve had no strife.
I have no desire for you to return, instead, I only wish you’d leave me alone.
All the hurt, all the pain I’ve suffered because of you has finally began to heal.
Now, you want to come back, and cause some more…it’s so unreal.
All these scars I bare, they’re a constant reminder of just how cruel you really are.
A beautiful visage is just that; an appearance.
All you’ve ever cared for was yourself, your own life.
Now I’ve taken charge of mine, and the reins are out of your hands.
As you stand there, out on my porch, the wind blows your hair, every last strand.
And I know you for what you are.
You’re a demon in disguise, a monster…
Selfish, cold, heartless.
I’m strong now, I stand on my own.
The things I need are few.
And I’m sorry but those things aren’t you.
Now, I’m turning back, leaving you behind.
Mother, I’m sorry, but now’s your time.
Feel the pain of rejection, the hurt of abandonment.
I have nothing to say, nothing to give.
I’m letting you go now, so that I may live.
I turn away, no glance back.
For once in my life, I’m on the right track.
You expect to enter my life again, after disappearing without a single trace.
I see you open your mouth, but I hear no words.
All I hear is the sounds of the outside birds.
Since you’ve left, I’ve known life.
Since you’ve left, I’ve had no strife.
