Always start with you.

    Always start with you.

The stars are out, shining bright.
They light your hair up like neon lights.
I lay, on the hood of this car, supposed to be watching the sky…
But I can’t help but steal a couple glances over at you…to see that you’re smiling.
Everything is so complete, how could it end.
But, until that time comes, I’m gonna hold your hand, and squeeze it tight.
Tell you I love you, every night.
I know I seem cheesy, but what can I say.
It’s your fault for making me feel this way.
So as I lay here, on this car, I’ll savor the flavor of every second with you.
Every heartbeat precious, every breath divine.
I look at the stars, then back at you…it seems I have trouble telling which is which.
You seem so bright here, with me, underneath the moonlight.
I can honestly say, it must be quite a sight.
You with me, me with you…we must make quite the odd pair.
But I don’t mind, as long as you don’t.
After all, I’m used to the stare.
So come, lets count these stars, from one to a thousand.
    Then we’ll start over.
    But guess what.
    I’ll always start with you.

beautiful sentiment.ok, sure guys have been looking at girls in the moonlight for ions, and commentinting on their hair, but your poem has a stability to it's romanticism.if that makes sense.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
