    So We Go

    So we go
    slow or not at all
    This is the life
    you never dreamed of
    but feared would come

    I can't run anymore
and my eyes don't hide it
    like they once used to

    True
    it's not right
    but the fight is gone
    Along the way
I forgot what I was supposed to say
    to make it work
    It doesn't hurt anymore
    Just sore
    from previous bruises
And the look on my face
    isn't any more real
than something I may have felt
    a long time ago

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
