    Belief Can Kill You

    You knew I was leaving
      all along
      the road of despair
    But you cared too much
    to let it grab you
    where the point is
    that keeps you alive
    Trouble is
      my point
      has no point
There's a blank piece of ebony black
      inside of me
    The switch was flipped
      somehow a long time ago
I thought there was something inside of me
      but I was wrong

    Belief can kill you
      once you've been deceived
And trust turns into the deadliest sin of all
    Because once broken
      it's never spoken about again

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
