    Remorse

It’s too late to tell her now
    knowing that she’s gone forever
    her loving mem’ries may linger
but her presence is now gone.
At times I get some goosebumps
as I think of her in the past
    she’s my flesh and blood
she’s my mother throughout my life.
    The time when she’s ailing
I wasn’t there to assist her
    so helpless that she struggled
    to survive amid some questions.
In times of difficulties like this
    there’s openness to God’s message
    when she succumbed to death
it’s the law of nature to submit herself.
Tears dropped as I remembered her
mem’ries of her engulfed me within
like the wound that showed its pain
deep inside I sorely missed her.
    Her love for her children
    her answer to every question
    her patience in every encounter
    she faced them with satisfaction.
    Oh mother! My loving mother!
    I’m sorry if I wasn’t there
    the time when you’re suffering
and needed my presence in prayer.
You’ll always be in my supplication
you’ll always be my dearest mother
for without you I’ll never be a follower
of God’s calling to serve all people.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
