Reflections of reality

Not a day has gone by that our country hasn’t been left
with a number of issues to deal with as the world watches us
with the hurricane that hit Galveston, Texas, Ike was his name
with somber moments to remember 9/11 in our circle of sorrow
with those 2, 751 victims recorded and acknowledged heretofore.

So many things are given a spotlight like those public figures
presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain
others like senators Joseph Biden Jr and Sarah Palin
they’re nominees for the Democrats and Republicans
leading a movement with strengths and grandiloquence.

It’s a litmus test for all people who toil for continuation
its a challenge to carry out what’s in store from now on
yet it’s a welcome departure from a passel of failures
a new beginning that aims for a change and reconciliation.

Then the nation’s fourth-largest city, Houston, Texas
was struck with a massive storm with destruction
mandatory evacuations and other instructions
forced some residents to flee and be safe completely.

With the rising tide of anger and frustration from them
government sectors try their best to assist them
however slow, but they’re on hand to provide supplies
especially to victims of this enormous, fatal hurricane.

After that, came the important day of reckoning
Wall Street’s meltdown, its collapse and downfall
This giant investment source of this nation’s finances
with their basic components that resemble defects
like wars in one crucial point, a sequel to bad loans.

Mortgages went bad and lost principal share in transactions
legendary investment bank tycoons like Lehman Brothers
Merrill Lynch and the insurance giant AIG in their departure
leverage in their lingo reflects losses and heightened fall.

With this growing turmoil and critical evaluation
a comprehensive strategy has a better option
with government’s intervention to bail out so far
indeed, an enormous gauge to redeem its operation.
