My Stormy Night
I was born from the tail of a twister, screaming loud and long.Behind a shivering nor'easter icing over my song, I came on strong.
I caused so much trouble that my attitude comes from my stormy night.
Trust me my bark is worse than my bite, for now.
I, being born small, fought for every scrap that came.
My three brothers never had a leg to stand on, they soon learned to go away.
Some would call me mean or even nasty, I say that I'm just a careful thing give me a chance.
I'll show you my true color, if you'll show me yours.
Learning to love was the hardest chore, if I give you my heart will you give me yours.
Sly as I think I am my heart is fragile and may get broken.
You think you can handle this woman scorned, fail me, you'll see my wrath become outspoken.
Love me as best you can and I'll love you as my man.
I'll hold your heart as a token of that stormy night my voice was woken.
Such as I am I need a strong willed man, he might be the answer to my turbulent soul.
So hang on to this child of a twister, enjoy the ride while it lasts.
For tomorrow I may make you my past, I'll give you my apologies and be on my way.
Like the storm that bore me that fateful day................
