Looking Through You
As I lay here looking at your face, remembrancesof how you once where flood my eyes.
Where for years I saw myself in you gleaming orbs.
Why has this shadow replaced me, has your heart forgotten my image as well.
I suffered long lonely nights waiting for you.
My joyous days where countless when you came.
Why do your arms no longer bring there strength.
And my heart no longer flame.
As I lay here looking at you face.
My children still gleam when I awaken them.
Am I only to see what has become of me in their eyes.
What can become of me, no longer do you feel my
love.
Why has death invaded my lovers soul, what reason can be given.
As I lay here looking at your face, please forgive the tears.
Look past the anger, the fear, my own self loathing.
Wondering what I did.
To lose the sight of yourself in your child's eye is dieing slowly.
To lose that in your mate.
As I lay looking in your face, bleeding from an old wound with a fresh cut.
I cry, I cry, I cry...........
