LITTLE SANDY RIVER ( True Event )

Years have passed just like a dream
The path we trod that was so clean
Winding around and down the cliff
Passing the cove to the fishing hole…

There came a time we had to depart
The lake moved in and took our spot…

Now there is no longer seen
The little Sandy river that used to be
A body of water deep and wide
As we watch the boats go gliding by…

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
