    AUTUMN COUNTRY HOME

All the fields are almost clean
What was planted in the Spring
Some little pumpkins were left in the field
While the big one were taken
    To grind in the mill…

The beauty of the leave on every tree
Just take a look and you will see
    Fall winds blowing all around
Leaves are now all over the ground…

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
