Linger
On the tip of your tongue the words linger
You feel the electricity run through the tips of your fingers
Never a moment so righteous and true
Something so perfect destroying you
No defense but stronger than ever
So happy that it makes you quiver
What does it take to buy into something real?
It’s time to repay the attention that you steal
It’s almost cheating when you flash that grin
It makes a heart want to feel sin
Eyes burning like the Arizona sun
Caught in their stare and you’re coming undone
A rose has never smelled so sweet
As you the day you took me off my feet
Never tasted anything as good as your lips
Mesmerized by the way you move your hips
Love the feel of your skin pressed up against mine
I could still love you even if I was blind
Ears rejoice with every tender word you speak
standing here kissing you my knees grow weak
